Children's Saturday Dance Classes
Muntu is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Beverly Arts Center! The BAC will now be offering children's African dance classes taught by Muntu instructors. Each instructor will teach traditional and contemporary African dance forms accompanied by a master drummer. The dance instruction will consist of sequential sessions, allowing students to develop techniques and applications of skills in this artistic discipline. Students in each class will be immersed in the culture and traditions of various African dances; learning the names, significance, and regions the dances originate from.
The Fall session for children's classes will run for 13 weeks starting September 12th, 2015 for children ages 5-13! REGISTER Now!

Leotards, tights, wraps, and sarongs and/or exercise wear is acceptable attire. No shoes. African dance is a barefoot art form. This class will take place on Saturday's. This is not a 'drop in' class. You must register in advance. to visit the Beverly Arts Center's website. BAC members ($200) and Non-BAC members ($222) for the 13 week session!

Children's Saturday Percussion Classes
Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago's United We Drum summer percussive class is a 7 week program that will run from July 11, 2015 to August 22, 2015. Instruction will be given by Master drummers. Program participants will be taught the history and cultural context of rhythms and be given opportunities to explore their own creativity. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about various types of drums and percussive instruments as well as play them. The program will culminate at one of the The Logan center's Family Saturday Festivals (United We Drum) Day where participants will be featured performers showcasing what they have learned.

*** Class enrollment is on a first-come, first serve basis. Participants are between the ages of 8*-17 years. *Special consideration is given for those younger who exhibit exceptional skill. Tuition is $70 for the 7week program or $10 per class
