Dear Friend:
This year marks the 35th Anniversary of Muntu Dance Theatre. As part of our yearlong celebration, we will end the year with our Annual Benefit Concert and Gala and Silent Auction on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Gary Comer Youth Center, located at 7200 South Ingleside.
Some of you are aware that Muntu works with the Chicago Public Schools and the Department of Children and Family Services serving over 15,000 youth each year through our Arts for Community Empowerment Program (ACE).
Our 35th year is special, and we are proud to say that by this time next year, Muntu will be housed in the Muntu Performing Arts Center, the first African American dance company to have their own home in the country; performances, rehearsals, and administrative space under one roof! As a result of this new venture, we will be able to increase our outreach to the community as well as offer a variety of classes based on community demand. We will offer more African Dance classes and we plan to offer ballet, stepping, hip hop, jewelry making, music, yoga, history and a whole host of other progressive classes as we grow in the new building.
We are asking you to make an investment in the expansion of our community programs by making a considerable donation of your goods and services for our 35th Anniversary Gala and Silent Auction. Some things that you might want to consider are: dinner tickets for two at a restaurant, theater tickets for two, a spa package for women and men, a piece of art, a makeup package, an article of clothing for women and men, a packaged gift for men only, jewelry, cultural artifacts and accessories, packaged hotel tickets, airline tickets. Of course we will be most appreciative of whatever you decide to donate. You can also take out an ad, which will expose your business to over 2400 to 3000 potential customers throughout our concert series from December 5th through December 9th.
Help us make our 35th Anniversary Gala and Silent Auction a huge success.
If you want to invest in the expansion and growth of our youth, please down load the forms Gift Agreement Form and the Fall Concert Ad Opportunity, and fax to Miaisha Evans at 773-241-6089 or you may mail the forms to our new interim office space:
Muntu Dance Theatre, 7127 S. Ellis Ave., Suite 2, Chicago, Illinois 60619 or you can email your donation commitment via email to Miaisha Evans: miaisha@muntu.com.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
