Muntu is seeking an appropriation from the Transportation, HUD and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill in support of our new Muntu Performing Arts Center. Congressman Bobby Rush has secured a $150,000 earmark for us in the House Bill. In the coming weeks, the Transportation, HUD and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill will be considered by a House and Senate Conference Committee. We have a window of opportunity to advocate for Muntu's appropriation to be increased to $1 million.
We're asking all of our friends and supporters to write letters of support to key legislators asking them to support Muntu's appropriation at the increased level.
Follow this link to download the drafts of the letters that we need. They are already prepared for your convenience. Feel free to add any personal comments that you would like to make in support of Muntu and our efforts.
All you need to do is fill in the date on each letter, include your name and mailing address under your signature, and print them out. Sign each letter and fax it as indicated on the letter.
