Jeanne Sparrow hosts Muntu's 40th Anniversary Fall Benefit

Jeanne Sparrow 110 WebMs. Sparrow on Muntu: “I’m happy and honored to celebrate Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago’s 40 year legacy of sharing the joy and culture of African and African-American dance and music at their 2012 Fall Benefit and Concert. As the daughter of a musician who also loves to dance, I’ve always been blessed to be surrounded with all types of music and movement my whole life… so I appreciate Muntu for treasuring the history and spreading the beauty of the art forms within our culture and beyond.”

We are thrilled to have the multi-talented Jeanne Sparrow as the Host of the 2012 benefit, Friday, December 14. Ms. Sparrow is an Emmy-winning television program host and reporter, a voice-over artist and top-rated and award-winning radio personality.Jeanne’s media career started completely by accident -- and continues on purpose, thanks to a little luck, fun and joy. While still in high school, Jeanne’s speech and debate coach sent her to audition as an announcer on a country-western radio station in her hometown of New Iberia, Louisiana. She got the job and that’s where she fell in love with radio. After graduating and moving to the Chicago area to attend Northwestern University, she kept at it – in college at WNUR, interning at WGN, eventually being heard on several Chicago radio stations as host and co-host, including morning shows on WGCI with comedians George Wallace and Steve Harvey and on WLUP with Danny Bonaduce.  Right now, you can hang out with Jeanne every weekday morning as she hosts the new morning information and entertainment program, “You & Me This Morning ”… airing from 6 to 8am on WCIU “The U.”
