Teachers Interactive Workshop
These workshops are for teachers to understand the relationship of African dance to music. The history of the music and instrumentation of a particular region of Africa will introduce the dance of that particular ethnic group. Through hands on experience of playing percussive rhythms, singing songs, and movement, teachers open the world of communication for future or current collaborative endeavors.
Arts Integration
True integration of arts and academics can only occur when both entities are expressed evenly in one session without losing the validity of either area. The expertise of both the teacher and artist are very important to strategize an interesting, free flowing, enjoyable, and successful integrated classroom session. Teachers, artists, and our program coordinator meet throughout a residency to create, compare, and review ways to effectively implement true arts integration.
Curriculum Planning
Muntu Dance Theatre offers curriculum guidance for various dance, music, and folkloric specialty programs in many educational arenas. Lesson plan development sessions are custom designed to service all aspects of the teaching spectrum. We take pride in our collaborative efforts to conceive, design, and implement services that respond to your unique needs.
